RANGERS RALLY TO DROP ASTROS, 6-5
Elvis Andrus’ solo-homer off Astros’ closer Ryan Pressley in the ninth, sent Tuesday night’s game into extra innings, before Texas down Houston, 6-5.
Andrus led off the ninth with his first homer of the season, tying the game at 4-4. In the tenth, the Astros’ bullpen continued its struggles, forcing home the go-ahead run with a balk. The Rangers added an insurance run on a throwing error by Houston catcher Martine Moldonado.
That run would be crucial as the Astros tallied a run in the bottom of the inning on Michael Brantley’s rbi-single. But a double play and flyball out would end the game.
Brantley drove in four on the night, including a three-run homer in the seventh.
The same two teams meet tonight at 7:10 on KWHI/FM 101.7. Astro Launch is set for 6:35.
