JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION FRIDAY AT WASHINGTON CO. FAIR

Today (Friday) is the biggest day of the 152nd Washington County Fair, although it may look quite different from previous fairs.

2020's Washington County Fair Junior Livestock Auction will take on a much different look than last year's sale, shown here.

Hundreds of lots will be up for sale at the Junior Livestock Auction, taking place at 2 p.m. at Silver Wings Ballroom.  The auction is being held at the ballroom to allow for extra space and new virtual features.  Through the online options provided by Cattle in Motion, the auction will allow for in-person and online bidders.  The Washington County Fair website will link to the Cattle in Motion website for those who wish to bid in the auctions virtually.

KWHI will broadcast the auction live beginning at 1:45 p.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7, and kwhi.com, and will also livestream the auction on Facebook.

Livestock judging continued Thursday at the commercial pen heifer show, which saw Callen Schulte and Maggie Hodde take home Grand and Reserve Champion honors.  Schulte, of Salem 4-H, is a third grader at Brenham Elementary School and the son of Brandon and Emily Schulte.  Hodde, of Bluebonnet 4-H, is a senior at Brenham High School and the daughter of Robert and Deborah Hodde.

Judging will conclude today with the commercial halter heifer show at 8 a.m.  The fair will round out tomorrow (Saturday) with the youth country creations auction at 10 a.m., commercial steer awards and sale at noon, colt sale at 1 p.m., and commercial heifer awards and sale at 2 p.m.  Those auctions will also take place at Silver Wings Ballroom.
