WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS ACCEPT DONATION FOR PRECINCT ONE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

Washington County Commissioners accepted a donation from a local ranch for improvements to a county road in Precinct One at their meeting today (Tuesday).

Commissioners approved allowing County Engineer Ross McCall to accept a donation of $16,909 from Texas Double B Ranch for road improvements to a section of Mertins Creek Lane, where the ranch is located.

McCall said he feels this is in the best interest of the county and its taxpayers, and is another example of the county working well with its constituents.

Commissioner Don Koester thanked the constituents for donating the funds to improve the road, adding the donation will be “a great help”.  Commissioner Joy Fuchs said it is always good when citizens are willing to help, saying it keeps a “good county and constituent partnership”.  Commissioner Kirk Hanath said this donation will “help us all”.

Commissioners also heard a slate of monthly reports from the Emergency Management Coordinator, environmental health department, district and county clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor/collector, treasurer, constables, and Washington County Fairgrounds management.
