BURTON CROSS COUNTRY TEAM HAS TOP MEET OF SEASON SATURDAY

The Burton Panthers continued their 2020 Cross Country season with a trip to Davidson Creek Park in Caldwell this Saturday.

The showing was the best of the season, thus far, with all 10 runners competing walking away with medals.

Competing in the small school division (1A/2A) the Panthers placed 2nd overall as a team.  The boy's eight man squad was once again led by Jakori Mathis (4th), Tryston Babich (6th) and Jett Cowen (9th) for top 10 finishes.  Also contributing to the scoring for the Panthers was Cannon Manley (11th) and Trevor Renninger (15th).  Kolby Vavrecka, Mason McCoy, and Thomas Angell rounded out the Panthers and finished in the top 25.

The Lady Panthers were unable to field a team due to a make-up district game with Snook occurring at the same time.  Nonetheless, the Lady Panther's acquitted themselves well, with both ladies finishing in the top 10 and receiving medals.  The Lady Panthers were represented by Karime Ortiz (5th) and Kirstin Dyess (9th).  Both ladies also posted season best times.

Both squads continue their season with a trip to Lexington on Saturday, October 17th for their final invitational meet of the year.

This year's district meet will be held at Davidson Creek Park on Wednesday, October 28th.
