RIBBON CUTTING TUESDAY FOR EXPANSION AT BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE BRAZOS VALLEY – CALDWELL UNIT
The Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley – Caldwell Unit invites the public to a ribbon cutting tomorrow (Tuesday) to celebrate an expansion of services.
The expansion of the club, located within Caldwell Middle School, includes two new floors featuring a new play space, an administrative office, new bathrooms, and an art room.
Boys and Girls Club Vice President of Community Relations Nancy Dee said this expansion means the club is able to provide “additional enriching resources” for children in Caldwell.
The Caldwell Unit opened in January, but was forced to close in March in conjunction with Caldwell ISD over the late spring due to COVID-19. Summer brought on additional challenges because of ongoing construction on the Caldwell ISD-owned building.
While the club was closed, memberships were available at the club’s Bryan Unit for Caldwell students who wished to attend over the summer. Once construction materials were cleared from the space, the Caldwell Unit was able to reopen in August.
Dee said the club thanks the Caldwell community for its welcome and generosity, Caldwell ISD for the newly expanded space, and the club’s Board of Directors and Advisory Council for their leadership during “truly unprecedented times.”
The ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. at the facility, located at 606 West Fawn Street.
