LEE CO. VETERANS TO DEDICATE NEW HONOR PARK NOVEMBER 14TH
The Lee County Texas Veterans Association will dedicate a new project in Giddings honoring local veterans next month.

A dedication ceremony will be held Saturday, November 14th at 10 a.m. for the newly installed Veterans Honor Park, located at the corner of Old Highway 20 and Raymond Street in Veterans Park. City, county, state, and military officials will dedicate the park with a military flyover and a ceremony with music.
The Veterans Honor Park honors all veterans and currently serving military personnel. Plaques have been posted with names of men and women of military service from Lee County, while the center monument and flagpoles recognize all branches of the military.
Researchers have sought the names of veterans from Lee County, but anyone can submit the name of a county resident who has served in the U.S. military. A volunteer group is working with the community to get living veterans to tell their stories.
Lee County Judge Paul Fischer said this project allows the community to honor the men and women, living or dead, who have allowed for the “freedoms and liberties that so many Americans enjoy each day.”
The effort to create the park began in 2016. More information on the project, including how to donate, is available at www.leecountytxvets.org.
