A City of Brenham crew assisted this (Wednesday) morning in lifting some scaffolding onto the roof of a downtown building.  The scaffolding will be used in painting a mural on the upper back of the Today and Yesterday building overlooking Toubin Park.  The mural will feature flowers found in Toubin Park.  The other mural will be painted in an alleyway in downtown and will feature bluebonnets.

The murals are being painted as part of the Texas Arts and Music Festival taking place this year October 16th and the 17th.   The festival will be in collaboration with the City of Brenham’s Hot Nights, Cool Tunes Concert Series.  The stage has been relocated to the large parking lot on Commerce Street from the usual location of Baylor and Alamo Streets.  Playing Friday night will be the "Texas Unlimited Band" and Saturday night “Escape” a Journey tribute band will play.
