WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR LLOYD SAUNDERS MEMORIAL COOK-OFF
A large crowd was on hand Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds for the annual Lloyd Saunders Memorial Cook-off.

Twenty-two teams competed this year at the cook-off, which featured contests in chili, beans, chef’s choice, margaritas, and Bloody Marys.
The winner of the chili and Bloody Mary competitions was T. Saunders. First place in the beans contest was Mary Jo Klekar.
Scotty and Tammy Luetge won the chef’s choice contest. First place margarita went to Shirley Bosse. Winners of the hospitality award were Paul and Sarah Goessler, Brandi Conway, and Jonathan Schramm.

In addition to the cook-offs, attendees were also able to take part in a corn hole toss and live auction. Bobby Z and the Trail Boss Band provided entertainment throughout the day. There were even costume and pumpkin decorating contests in celebration of Halloween.
All funds raised at the event will go toward the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Scholarship, supporting youth who participate in the calf scramble at the Washington County Fair.
