BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD HIRES CONSULTING FIRM
The Brenham School Board approved hiring a consulting firm to assist in looking for a replacement for Chief Appraiser Willy Dilworth. He announced his retirement Monday after serving since 2002 as Washington County’s Chief Appraiser. Richard Petree with Western Valuation and Consulting spoke to the board through a video conference Thursday evening. He stated that his firm will advertise for the position in various trade journals as well as speaking in person with candidates. They will work with the board with interviews and can even negotiate the contract with the new Chief Appraiser. He also said that their fee is not due until a person is hired for the position.
After an Executive Session to discuss Personnel Matters, and a meal break, the board began the Strategic Planning for the district. The core group is made up of the board members and the Superintendent, known as the Team of 8. They will meet again next Tuesday evening at the Brenham Junior High School Snack Bar. Expected at that meeting are 35 members of the public to give their input to the Strategic Planning document.
