CHANGES ANNOUNCED FOR BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING

Brenham ISD’s homecoming festivities have undergone a few changes.

Wednesday’s community-wide pep rally at Cub Stadium has been moved from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The event will feature the introduction of the Homecoming Court, performances from the Brenham High School Band, Belles dance team and cheerleaders, and special recognition for veterans by the JROTC and choir.

The pep rally is now free to attend for students and community members.  A headcount will be taken in order to ensure 50 percent capacity is maintained at the stadium.

KTEX-106’s Holly Ryder will be at Cub Stadium Wednesday ahead of the pep rally, broadcasting live from the friendly country cruiser.

The Homecoming Queen will still be announced at halftime of Friday’s game between the Brenham Cubs and Elgin Wildcats.  However, as members of the Cub football team are on the homecoming court, the King will not be announced until the end of the game.

Homecoming activities this year are taking on a Brenham Cub spin to “Coachella,” with students celebrating “Cubchella” for spirit week.  Festivities will not include a dance or parade.

Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased on the athletic page of the Brenham ISD website.  The game kicks off at 7 p.m., with 6:30 p.m. pregame on KWHI AM 1280, FM 101.7, and kwhi.com.
