FRIDAY DEADLINE TO ENTER COUNTY PECAN SHOW

  

Friday is the deadline for entries to the 2020 Washington County Pecan Show.

The Washington County Extension Horticulture Committee welcomes entries from landowners across the area who have an interest in learning more about their pecan trees and testing the quality of their crop.

The committee will prepare the pecans for judging and results will be available to all exhibitors on Thursday, Dec. 3.  Cracking and judging will not be open to the public this year due to the current pandemic.

Each exhibitor must submit 42 pecans (from the same tree) of any variety, including natives and all improved varieties.

Entries are due by Friday by 5 p.m. to the County Extension Office located at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.

Entries must be submitted in paper bags with the exhibitor’s name, address, telephone number, and the variety name of each sample indicated on the bag. Any entries not listing the required information will not be judged. An entry form will be available at the Extension Office to be completed with all sampled entered.

No late entries will be accepted.
