LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED OUT TO ACCIDENTS

It was a busy day for the Brenham Fire Department, Monday.

Just before 9:00 a.m., firefighters were called to a car fire at the intersection of West Third and South Day streets.

They found a vehicle fully involved in flames.  They used a handline to extinguish the blaze.  No one was injured.

Just before 4:00 p.m. authorities were called to the 1100 block of North Park to a minor auto accident.

No one was injured.  The Fire Department checked the vehicles for leaking fluids and other hazards, none were found.

Just after 9:00 p.m. fire fighters were called to smoke in a home in the 1000 block of Garrett St.

The cause of the light smoke was overheated strips in the HVAC system.  The department removed the smoke from the home and shutoff the HVAC system until it could be repaired Tuesday.
