“Recollections Volume II,” a continuation of the oral history of Brenham, will air on Saturday and Sunday at The Barnhill Center, at 2 p.m. each day.  The collection of memories and imagery from Brenham’s past has been compiled by Main Street Brenham, who in 2015 began recording recollections of some of Brenham’s elders to preserve an oral history of a time long gone.

Topics in Volume I included grocery stores, Maifest, small town life, shopping and entertainment.  In Volume II, topics covered are technology, war, Christmas, German heritage, characters and Blue Bell Creameries.

Some of the interviewees in the film, which is approximately two hours long, include John Barnhill, Dr. Wilfred Dietrich, Howard Kruse, Carrie Marsh, Alietha Mae Richter, Milton Tate, Leon Toubin and Dorothy Utesch, along with several others.

Tickets are available to the public for $10 in advance at the Visitor Center, 115 West Main Street in Brenham, and $15 at the door.  Reserved seating with COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.

DVDs of Volumes I and II will be available to purchase at both showings for $25 each, and then daily at the Visitor Center.
