BETHLEHEM IN INDEPENDENCE SUNDAY, MONDAY

The town of Independence will be home to a live nativity beginning this weekend.

Sunday and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., Independence Community Events will host “Bethlehem in Independence,” featuring a live nativity route starting at the town square.

Mark Rosenbaum of Independence Community Events said guests are able to experience the nativity scenes in one of two ways.

After the nativity, visitors will be treated to free cookies, cider, and hot chocolate.  Hot dogs will be available for a free will donation.

Santa will make an appearance each night at 6:30 p.m. on his fire truck, and will be available for photos.

All donations will go toward the renovation of the Independence school house.

Safe practices regarding COVID-19 will be enforced, and masks are encouraged.
