CIGAR LOUNGE OPENS IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM
A new cigar shop and lounge is open for business in downtown Brenham.
Brown Water Cigar Bar officially opened November 19th at 200 West Alamo Street. The shop sells premium handmade cigars that are stored inside a walk-in humidor, which keeps them at the optimal temperature and humidity. There is also a lounge area for shoppers to smoke their cigars and have conversations.
Randy Bayer, who owns the store along with his wife, Suzi, said he was tired of having to drive to places like College Station or Cypress to get a premium cigar. He also wanted to bring to life a vision of having a place to sit back and relax while enjoying a cigar.
Bayer said business has been going very well thus far, adding he has received a lot of positive feedback from both local residents and tourists.
Bayer soon expects to receive a mixed beverage permit from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), and will then begin selling whiskey, scotch, rum, and other drinks that pair with cigars for on-premises consumption. He said his plan for the business is to keep it “quaint” and “small,” and does not anticipate expanding into other types of tobacco products, keeping a focus on cigars and cocktail pairings.
Randy and Suzi purchased the building in May and spent several months refurbishing it. While many have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Randy said it has worked out to his benefit.
Randy and Suzi also own Texas SureHome Inspection Services, which offers residential inspections for homes in the Brazos Valley and in the greater Houston and Austin areas.
Brown Water Cigar Bar is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This place is absolutely amazing. I’m really delighted to see this in downtown Brenham! I’ve been to cigar bars all over the country, and the classiness and selection rival any of the rest. If you enjoy a good cigar in a comfortable, inviting atmosphere, do not pass on this one. Brown Water is among my favorite places in town.
Congratulations Randy and Suzi. I’ll get by as soon as I can.
