BRENHAM PLANNING AND ZONING TO CONSIDER ZONING ASSIGNMENT FOR BUSINESS EXPANSION
Brenham Planning and Zoning Commissioners will consider assigning industrial zoning for commercial expansion to an existing business at their meeting this (Monday) evening.
Commissioners will hear a request from River Eagle Real Estate on behalf of Mike Hopkins Distributing (MHD) for approximately 5.15 acres of land next to 1751 Highway 290 West. River Eagle Real Estate has requested the property, currently located in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ), be annexed into the city and assigned industrial zoning to match the adjacent property.
The MHD property was comprised of three unplatted tracts, the subject property and land to the south along Eagle Lane and east of Highway 290 West. Several years ago, the owner expanded the distribution site by paving a portion of the subject property for an employee parking lot.
City staff say the existing commercial structure is now proposed to undergo a building expansion that needed the three tracts to be platted into one contiguous lot due to the current building, parking lot and detention site being located on separate lots.
Staff are recommending approval of the proposed zoning classification.
Commissioners will also consider a replat request from William McMeans, Jr., who has one lot with three residential structures, addressed as 1403 South Baylor Street, 1402 South Market Street and 1404 South Market Street. The property owner would like to subdivide this property so that the homes at 1402 South Market Street and 1403 South Baylor Street would be individual lots. The owner intends to demolish the home at 1404 South Market Street.
City staff recommend approval of the proposed replat.
The commission will meet this evening at 5:15 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
