BRYAN MAN KILLED, TWO HOSPITALIZED AFTER MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH IN BRAZOS CO.
DPS officials have identified a Bryan man killed in a four-vehicle fatality crash Friday on Highway 30 near the Grimes County line.
According to DPS Sergeant Erik Burse, shortly before 11:45 a.m., 32-year-old Jose Luis Cardoza and a 19-year-old man from Bryan were standing outside of their Chevy pickup truck, which was partially off the highway. A Mack truck driving westbound hit the rear of the pickup and the two men. A Western truck and Jeep SUV were also involved in the crash.
Cardoza was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan in stable condition.
The drivers of the Mack truck and Western truck were uninjured. The driver of the Jeep, a 75-year-old Iola woman, was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in College Station in serious condition.
DPS says the accident remains under investigation.
