WINEDALE VIRTUAL PRESENTATION ON THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD THROUGH TEXAS INTO MEXICO

The public is invited to take part in a virtual discussion Tuesday on the Underground Railroad through Texas and into Mexico.

The program, hosted by the Winedale Historical Complex in Round Top, will be held at noon and will feature Roseann Bacha-Garza of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Bacha-Garza’s discussion will explain that while most pathways of the Underground Railroad led north to Canada, there was also a movement of enslaved people through South Texas and into Mexico.

To receive the link to the virtual presentation, email Winedale Site Manager Tricia Blakistone at tricia.blakistone@austin.utexas.edu.
