LONGTIME LOCAL ATTORNEY CRAIG LESSER DIES

  

A longtime attorney in Washington County has died.

Craig Lesser died Friday at the age of 59.

Lesser was a practicing attorney at law for over 30 years, and had a private law practice in Brenham.  He served as Washington County Attorney from 1993 to 1996.

Lesser, from Chappell Hill, studied at Brenham High School and Blinn College before receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies and Political Science from Rice University.  He received his Juris Doctor degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1987.  He was an active member of Brenham’s Kiwanis Club.

Both Lesser’s grandfather, Harry, and father, John, were Washington County Justices of the Peace in Precinct Two for many years.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Brenham Memorial Chapel.

  1. I am so very sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. Too young. He was a kind and honest man and I’m sure he’ll be missed by many. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace, Craig.

  2. I am so sorry to hear this. Craig and I went to law school together and I had planned to reach out to him this summer to catch up and explore the idea of working/retiring in Brenham. He was such a wonderful person so very sad.

  4. Oh my goodness ! I’m so surprised & sorry to hear of Craig Lesser’s passing. He was so young too. Does anyone know what caused it ?
