BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS ‘FRONTLINE WORKERS’ RESOLUTION, CONSIDER 2021-22 CALENDAR
The Brenham School Board will consider a request to Governor Greg Abbott at its meeting this (Tuesday) evening.
Trustees will potentially adopt a resolution asking the Governor to include school district personnel in the official Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel’s definition of frontline workers. This would allow school personnel quicker access to COVID-19 vaccinations.
Also at today’s meeting, the board will look to adopt the 2021-22 district instructional calendar. It will also recognize the state winner of the VFW Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher Program: fourth grade English Language Arts teacher Heather Kaldis.
Trustees will also consider the purchase of four new school buses and vote on giving the superintendent the authority to purchase a replacement chiller at Brenham High School for no more than $250,000.
The board will also hear a facility assessment report, discuss the district’s early literacy and math goals, hold a public hearing on the 2019-20 Texas Academic Performance Report, and consider approval of the 2019-20 district financial audit.
The board will meet this evening at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
