Three Buccaneers score double-digit points

 

RANGER, Texas — The No. 15 Buccaneers (3-1) bounced back with a 78-53 win over Ranger College Friday night on the road.

With the win, the Blinn College women’s basketball team now holds a 3-1 overall record

“I am very proud of how our young ladies responded after their first loss,” head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “The energy was good and all 12 players made a positive contribution.”

Three Buccaneers scored double-digit points in the win. Keaundra Eddings led Blinn with 15, while Hailey Atwood and Briauna Johnson each scored 13.

Blinn jumped out to a 23-15 lead in the first quarter and held on to it for the remainder of the game. At halftime, the Buccaneers led 36-26.

The Buccaneers put up 22 points in the third quarter to pull ahead by 20 (58-38). Blinn added 20 points in the final quarter for the 78-53 victory.

Next, the Buccaneers return home to take on North American University on Monday, Feb. 1, at 5:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center.
