GRIMES CO. SHERIFF WARNS OF SCAM CALLS
The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens to be aware of someone impersonating a law enforcement officer from their agency.
In a Friday Facebook post, the sheriff’s office says someone is calling people claiming to be a Lt. Brookes with the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office. The post says no one with that name is employed by the agency.
The post goes on to warn citizens, “Please be cautious when you are contacted by someone stating they’re an officer at random.”
Anyone contacted by someone impersonating a police officer is urged to call the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office (936) 873-2151.
