‘JACKS,’ ‘KING’ NAMED PETS OF THE WEEK; KREWE OF BARKUS SATURDAY
The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has named “Jacks” and “King” as its Pets of the Week.
Jacks is an adult terrier mix who is neutered and vaccinated. Brenham Animal Services staff say Jacks is pretty quiet and prefers quiet spaces, so an ideal home would be one without too much noise and activity. They say he is a great sized dog for an apartment, as long as there is a nice sized lap for him.
King is a chocolate American Rabbit who is also neutered. Staff say he is very friendly and sweet, and his favorite things are kittens and vegetables.
This Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Puppy Dawgs and Cat Tails will host “Krewe of Barkus,” a Mardi Gras-themed event featuring adoptable pets and a costume contest. To enter the contest, stop by the event in costume, or submit a photo to animalservices@cityofbrenham.org.
Celebrity judge Barry Brass will decide the winners of the contest, and there will be festive treats for people and animals alike. The winner will be announced in a live video at 2:45 p.m. the day of the event.
Anyone looking to adopt or foster a pet can see the shelter’s available pets online at www.petfinder.com.
