BRENHAM ISD ARTS AND APPETIZERS SET FOR FEBRUARY 25TH
FUNDRAISER TO INCORPORATE LIVE, VIRTUAL ELEMENTS
Emerging artists in Brenham ISD will showcase their works later this month at the 16th Annual Arts and Appetizers exhibit.
This year’s event will feature both live and virtual elements. The live event will be invite-only, and will be held on February 25th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Ant Street Inn Ballroom. Virtually, a link will be available starting February 18th through the 25th to bid on silent auction items.
According to Brenham ISD Education Foundation Secretary Kim Weatherby, a live feed will be available for participants once the live auction begins at 6 p.m. on the 25th. A call-in number to take phone calls for bidding will be posted closer to the event. All silent and live auction items will be viewable in advance through the virtual portal.
Bidding in person will be available via QR code reader. Once an auction item is scanned, the bid will be generated on the virtual portal; bids taken via QR code the night of the event or virtually will be calculated in bidding order.
The ballroom will be open on February 24th from noon to 6 p.m. for viewing of the gallery and auction items. Those who are attendees will be able to meet the art students, while a short film on the artists and their work will be available to view virtually.
Masks will be required at the event, and assigned tables will be in place for those who are attending. Organizers say a plan is in place for the appetizers and beverages to limit the amount of walking around and gatherings.
Proceeds from the event go toward Brenham public schools and Brenham ISD’s art students and programs. Last year’s event raised nearly $50,000.
