BRENHAM CUB BAND TO PERFORM FREE CONCERT MONDAY

The public is invited to a free concert Monday performed by the Brenham Cub Band.

Four band groups will play three pieces each at the concert, set for 6 p.m. at the Brenham High School Auditorium.

Some of Monday night’s performances will include the brass class opening their portion of the concert with a fanfare by James Curnow, titled “Fanfare and Flourishes.”

Other pieces include “March of the Belgian Paratroopers” performed by the woodwinds, an arrangement of music from “The Avengers” by the concert band, and the debut of “Kickbacks” by the symphonic band and first-time band composer Elliot Shaw.

This weekend, students will be performing solos and ensembles for judges at the high school.  The band is preparing for its upcoming UIL concert and Sight Reading Contest in April.
