FORMER CUB FOOTBALL COACH DAVID BEAL DIES AT 62

 

Former Brenham Cubs football coach David Beal has died.

Beal served as the head coach of the Cubs for one season, 1994, when the team went 2-8.  He then left Brenham for the head coaching job at Spring Westfield.

He then became head coach at Temple, before returning to the Brazos Valley as offensive coordinator at Bryan from 2003-to-2013.

During his collegiate career, Beal played quarterback at Texas A&M (1977-1980), where he won the Aggie Heart Award.

He also served as an assistant coach with the Aggies and helped head coach Jackie Sherrill form the 12th Man kickoff unit.

Recently Beal had moved back to Arkansas to be closer to family, where he was living at the time he passed. Beal was 62 years old.
