OVER 450 WATER LEAKS IDENTIFIED, REPAIRED BY BRENHAM UTILITY CREWS

City of Brenham water and utility crews continue to make repairs to hundreds of leaks around town.

According to an update released by the city this (Friday) afternoon, city staff have identified and either repaired or isolated over 450 leaks.

The city said it has made “significant headway” in keeping water in towers longer and pushing water further throughout the system.  However, it says water demand remains very high, and as a result, water treatment plant staff may be forced to reduce the amount of water being put into the system later this evening in order to refill the plant.

Water and water pressure may remain intermittent until leaks are repaired throughout the city.

Residents are asked to continue limiting non-essential water usage like dripping faucets or operating washing machines and dishwashers.  They are also encouraged to keep reporting any leaks they see, whether it be on their property, in the streets or around the community, by calling 979-337-7400.

A boil water advisory remains in effect for all water customers.  The city will send out notice once it is no longer necessary to boil water.

This morning, officials with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced an end to emergency conditions and a return to normal operations.

  4. So I keep seeing that everyone’s water is intermittent and they’re getting basically very low pressure water. I have absolutely no water coming out, and no busted pipes. Is anyone else experiencing this or should I be concerned there’s something else going on?

    1. Our apartments have no water neither going on a week, came on briefly yesterday then was shut back off! I’m very concerned!
