OVER 10 PERCENT OF WASHINGTON CO. RESIDENTS FULLY VACCINATED, ACCORDING TO STATE

State data shows just over 10 percent of Washington County residents are now fully vaccinated.

According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as of Thursday, 6,582 county residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, while 3,252 are fully vaccinated.  The estimated number of people 16 and older in the county—those who are eligible to receive the vaccine—is 29,086.

DSHS estimates 11.18 percent of people 16 and older in the county are considered fully vaccinated.

As of Wednesday, according to Brenham City Manager James Fisher, approximately 23,552 people have gotten their initial vaccination at the Regional Vaccination subHUB at the Washington County Expo.  Roughly 8,151 have received their second dose at the subHUB.

The subHUB is open to all Texas residents who are currently eligible to be vaccinated.

On Wednesday, DSHS announced Texans between 50 and 64 would be eligible to begin receiving vaccines starting Monday.

    1. I am going to Navasota on Monday. I think we will be counted as administered in that county, not Washington. I will ask when I am at CHI.
