FULL WASHINGTON CO. FAIR PLANNED FOR 2021

2020's Washington County Fair held the Junior Livestock Auction at Silver Wings Ballroom to allow for more space between attendees, and to accommodate new virtual features.

Organizers of the 153rd Washington County Fair are moving forward with plans for a full-fledged fair.

Last year’s fair was held as an exhibitor-only event, with no entertainment, carnival, parade, or Fair Queen’s crowning.

However, Fair Manager Dean Fuchs does not intend for that to be the case this year, and says the fair this fall will be as close to normal as it was in 2019.

Fuchs says the fair will continue to be cautious and will follow whatever health guidelines are in place come September.

Last year’s event did bring some new ideas that Fuchs says will remain in place, including spreading out livestock shows over multiple days.  He also says the fair will continue to broadcast the livestock auction online.

There are also plans to broadcast the livestock shows online, but Fuchs says the full details of that have not been ironed out yet.  He also says, barring anything major, all events will move back to the Washington County Expo.  Last year’s livestock auction was held at Silver Wings Ballroom to allow for more space between attendees.

The Washington County Fair is scheduled for September 10-18.  For more information, visit www.washingtoncofair.com.
