ADAMS’ SENTENCING UNDERWAY IN DAUGHTER’S DEATH

The sentencing phase is underway in a Brazos County trial after a woman entered a guilty plea in her daughter’s death.
Virginia Adams pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of Injury to a Child in the 2018 death of her 3-year-old daughter Rayven Shields.
Adams faces a range of punishment from five years’ probation to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
In the summer of 2018. law enforcement investigators discovered the skeletal remains of the child in the back yard of her mother’s home in Bryan’s Castle Heights neighborhood.
Adams’s boyfriend, 52-year-old Patrick Wilson, Sr., was also charged in the case, but he died in April of last year, before he could be tried.
