CASA FOR KIDS HOSTING ‘CASTING FOR CASA’ VIRTUAL FISHING TOURNAMENT

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and CASA for Kids of South Central Texas is raising awareness by hosting a virtual fishing tournament.

“Casting for CASA – Making a REEL Difference” is an online bass and catfish competition going on now through May 1st, inviting the community to upload photos of the fish they catch to be judged.  Categories for the tournament are bass and catfish, biggest and smallest, and jackpot bass.

Winners will be announced at a free family day at Lake Somerville Marina and Campground on May 1st at 1 p.m.

CASA for Kids Executive Director Mandy Wright says all proceeds from the event directly benefit the organization’s goal of supporting local children and families that are in crisis.

The family day will also feature pulled pork sandwiches from LJ’s BBQ for $5 or $10 combos, games, prizes, and a silent auction.  Guests can bring diapers or a gift card valued at $10 or more to be entered into a wine and whiskey drawing.

Entry into the tournament is $50.  Students can enter for $25.

KWHI is a proud sponsor of the event.  To learn more, or to register, visit www.wespeak4kids.org.
