FAITH MISSION HOSTS “ONCE UPON A PROM NIGHT”

This past Saturday, Faith Mission hosted Once Upon A Prom Night for participants of Brenham ISD Senior high school class. Once Upon A Prom Night is a new ministry at Faith Mission. Teaming up with Brenham High School’s Emily Henkhaus, Jennifer Fuchs, and Officer Richelle Malinowski-- the ladies of the senior class were sent an email questionnaire about prom and selected ladies were given a princess experience. Thanks to generous sponsorship from L4 Cares, Williamson County, who donated over 100 brand new dresses of all styles, and sizes and several other fabulous donors- the ladies had a prom dress shopping day and fitted for any needed alterations held at Higgins South. On the day of prom thanks to Evvaylois Academy School of Beauty, the ladies were treated to hair styling, nails and make-up professionally done, and joined by surprise guest- celebrity stylist Giacomo Forbes to add a special addition of glamour for the big day. Following the pampering the ladies joined together with all beauty professionals and event organizers at Faith Mission’s Cannery Kitchen for a fellowship luncheon, hair and make-up touch ups and photos from Spectator Photography’s Yvonne Tomlinson. Joining the luncheon was special guest Pastor Rosemary McLean, who came to say some words of love and a special prayer over the ladies before going off to their big evening. Once the ladies where all dressed in their best and ready to go the ladies where given gift bags thanks to the donations of Blue Bell Ice Cream, Sonic and Jet Set Chocolates as well as given their corsages by Brenham’s Wildflower Florist.

Once Upon A Prom Night organizer’s Susan Lemel, Jessica Featherston and Emily Henkhaus would like to thank the wonderful people who helped donated their time and passion to make this event happen in just a short amount of time. First and foremost, huge thanks to Faith Mission, JD Young and Pastor Randy Wells for sponsoring this new reach out ministry and hosting prom events at Higgins South and Cannery Kitchen. Once Upon A Prom Night could not of been possible without their faith and support. Huge thanks to Kendra Cofer, L4Cares Williamson County and Karah Powell of Rock Ride On Center for Kids, Georgetown for the generous donation of new dresses for the ladies. Yvonne Tomlinson for going over the top with her seamstress talents, sponsorship reach out, and photography. Edna Cummins for her seamstress talents. Our fabulously talented beauty team at Evvaylois Academy School of Beauty and Zelda Moore. Surprise guest celebrity stylist Giacomo Forbes. Lacy Minks and Jasmine Vela for luncheon hair and make- up. Pastor Rosemary McLean for blessing the event. Blue Bell Ice Cream and Raymond Davis of Jet Set Chocolate for gift bags. And last but definitely not least, the fabulous ladies who participated in Once Upon A Prom Night. We pray you had a magical night and go off into the world with confidence, self-esteem that you can do anything, and faith in God as you also have faith in yourself. Knowing that you are as beautiful inside and out, every day, and all the time just as you hopefully felt the night of prom. Thank you to the parents of our ladies for supporting their daughters to participate. All involved in Once Upon A Prom Night cannot wait to start planning for 2022.  Story and photos courtesy of Faith Mission.
