BRINKMEYER RAISING MONEY THROUGH MS 150; NO PLANS TO HOLD ‘PUTT 2 CURE MS’

A Brenham man and long-time participant in the Bike MS Texas 150 continues to raise money for multiple sclerosis research.

While Michael Brinkmeyer will not be riding in this year’s event, benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, he is still raising funds to help find a cure.

Brinkmeyer, who is part of the top 300 fundraisers and passed $100,000 in total fundraising in 2016, said he plans to be at the finish line Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station, along with his daughter, Candice, who is battling the disease.

Brinkmeyer also regularly hosts the “Putt 2 Cure MS” mini-golf fundraiser at Horseshoe Junction in Brenham, but at this time, there are no plans to hold the event this summer because of continued COVID-19 concerns. He said he has until the end of July to decide whether to hold the mini-golf tournament, but worries about the ability to socially distance at the venue and that children who are unvaccinated would not be able to participate mean the prospects for holding the event are slim.
