BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO SWEAR IN MEMBERS, RECONSIDER MANUFACTURED HOME ORDINANCE

Members of the Burton City Council who were uncontested in their bid for re-election will be sworn in at their meeting Tuesday.

Mayor David Zajicek, Mayor Pro-Tem Nathan Kalkhake and councilmembers Paul McLaughlin and Macey Tidwell will receive the oath of office after they were all unopposed.

Following that, the council will once again consider amending the city’s current mobile home and pre-manufactured home ordinance.  The item has been tabled at each of the council’s last three meetings.

Also in session, the council will consider contracting an ordinance officer.

The council will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall.

  1. If you want mobile homes, let the city zone it. Brenham, Giddings, Round Top and other cities do not allow single or double wides within the city. If you care about the value of your home, don’t allow this. Mandate the city allow for zoning variation within city jurisdiction for the development of manufactured housing for a set aside area.

    1. Charles Not true. Both mobile home parks on FM389 are within the city limits
