GARAGE SUFFERS DAMAGE FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING LIGHTNING STRIKE

  

Lightning caused an early-morning fire Wednesday at a Brenham home.

The Brenham Fire Department was called out just after 1:00 a.m. to a home in the 1800 block of Shady Lane, near South Chappell Hill Street.

Fire fighters found a fire and smoke coming from an attic in the garage.  The fire was quickly extinguished and fans removed the smoke.

There was fire damage to the roof and ceiling area of the garage and sheetrock damage to the wall where the lightning struck.

There was no damage to the home.  No one was injured.
