HEAVY RAINS BRING FLOODING IN AUSTIN CO.
Areas of Austin County are seeing abundant amounts of rain during this latest series of storms.
Between 6 inches and a foot of rain fell in the county Monday afternoon, with the largest totals seen to the north and west of Highway 36 and Highway 159, between Kenney and Nelsonville.
The National Weather Service in Houston has a flood warning in effect for much of the county until noon today (Tuesday), and a flash flood watch in effect until 7 p.m.
Several road closures have been reported as a result of flooded roadways, including FM 2429 and FM 2754 at East Mill Creek.
