JURDEN NAMED NFPCA FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

 

Brenham-native Kelly Jurden of Texas Lutheran University has been named First Team, National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-American.

Jurden, a junior at TLU, hit .482 this season with a .590 on base percentage.  She also scored 56 runs and drove in 18 runs.

Jurden also had 54 stolen bases in 56 attempts which is second in the Nation in Division III.

Ealier this month, Jurden was named a finalist for the 2021 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year Award.

Jurden, daughter of Dan and Ann Jurden, is a 2017 graduate of Brenham High School, where she was an All-District outfielder for the Cubettes’ softball team.

Jurden and her TLU Bulldog teammates will take on Tufts University in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Championship, Thursday-Sunday in Salem, Virginia.  First pitch, Thursday is 12:30.
