BARNHILL CENTER TO REOPEN FRIDAY NIGHT WITH BOB WILLS’ TEXAS PLAYBOYS

  

The Barnhill Center in downtown Brenham will reopen with live entertainment tonight (Friday) for the first time since the fall.

Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys, led by two-time Grammy winner Jason Roberts, will take the stage at the Historic Simon Theatre at 7 p.m.

Barry Brass, emcee for The Barnhill Center, says Roberts was hand-picked by The Bob Wills Estate to lead the Texas Playboys band, as his vocals, instrumentals and stage presence closely represent Wills’ performances.

 

Roberts currently tours the world with the Texas Playboys, delighting old fans and making new ones.  From the White House to The David Letterman Show and the Kennedy Center, Roberts has helped keep the spirit of Western Swing alive across generations.
