MEMORIAL DAY SPEAKER WEBER ASKS FOR UNITY & RECOGNITION ON ‘SOLEMN DAY’

Fayette County Judge Joe Weber honored our nation’s veterans and spoke of hope for the future.

Weber was the featured speaker for Monday's local Memorial Day program.

The Washington County Veterans Association did not host an in-person program, but KWHI aired Memorial Day programming Monday morning.

Weber, who served 36 years as a commissioned officer in the US Marine Corps, said people need to take time to recognize the true meaning of the day…

 

Weber went on to say, he hopes the holiday activities and exercises can help bring the nation together…

 

Weber concluded by asking for consideration of two things on this solemn day…

 

In addition to Weber’s keynote speech, the program also featured patriotic music and messages from local officials.

The Veterans’ Association also hosting a drive-thru barbecue with all proceeds going to veterans groups in Washington County.
