REMODELING AT GERMANIA INSURANCE TOPS MAY BUILDING PERMITS

  

Renovations at a local insurance agency led the month of May for building permits issued by the City of Brenham.

The city issued a $3,433,269 permit to Germania Insurance at 507 Highway 290 East for interior remodeling of the first floor.  The company also took out a $116,180 permit for remodeling of the credit union area.  The work is contracted to Chappell Hill Construction Company.

Eight new homes were permitted in May for $1,441,711.  So far this year, 83 new homes have been permitted for $12,861,671.

A total of 28 permits were issued in May for $5,423,687.  In May 2020, 11 permits were issued for $2,452,121.

Through 2021, the city has issued 176 permits for $23,966,859, compared to this time last year when the city had issued 119 permits for $49,489,360.
