BRENHAM FD RESPONDS TO WATER LEAK, ACCIDENT INVOLVING LOADED CATTLE TRAILER

The Brenham Fire Department had a busy Friday, responding to a water leak at a local business and an accident involving a loaded cattle trailer.

Just after 7:15 a.m., the fire department was called out to the Bluebonnet Shopping Center in the 2600 block of Highway 36 South for a report of water in a building.  Upon their arrival, units found five businesses had water on the floor.

Firefighters found the source of the leak and helped remove water from the building.  The City of Brenham shut the water off to one business and stopped the leak.  The cause was a broken pipe in a restroom.

Shortly after 3 p.m., firefighters responded to the 1600 block of South Blue Bell Road, near Brenham Middle School, for a crash with entrapment.  The fire department arrived to find all occupants out of the vehicles.

Units shut down South Blue Bell Road from Stone Street to East Tom Green Street because a cattle trailer loaded with cattle was involved in the accident.

Wreckers removed the vehicles, and firefighters cleared the scene.  No injuries were reported.
