CHAPPELL HILL CHAMBER DONATES TO WASHINGTON CO. EMS

  

The Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce presented a donation today (Tuesday) to Washington County EMS in support of the department’s services in Chappell Hill.

During Washington County Commissioners Court today, the Chamber gave EMS a check for $3,500, representing the Chamber’s annual contribution to the department.

In 2016, EMS opened a substation at the old fire station in downtown Chappell Hill to better serve the immediate area.

Chappell Hill Chamber President Joel Romo said this substation has been a blessing for the community.

 

EMS Director Kevin Deramus said since 2016, the department has responded to nearly 2,000 9-1-1 calls from the Chappell Hill substation, including 22 cardiac arrest events.  He said all of those cardiac arrest events were met with under 8 minute response times, compared to 16-18 minute responses from Brenham.  He said the department is very appreciative of the Chamber’s continued partnership.

 

Mary Tom Middlebrooks, on behalf of Chappell Hill Bank, said the bank has continued to support EMS services in Chappell Hill, providing meals for on-duty medics during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The bank has also furnished the mailers and postage for annual solicitations.
