MULTIPLE INJURIES IN HEAD-ON CRASH IN BURTON

  

Multiple injuries are reported, following a horrific head-on crash in Burton, Monday afternoon.

Just before 4:00 p.m., authorities were called to a two-vehicle collision between a pickup and a passenger vehicle on Eberhardt Road, south of Lake Somerville.

At the scene, the Brenham Fire Department had to use extrication equipment to free the driver of the pickup.  Washington County EMS was able to remove the victims from the other vehicle.

Three patients were flown by medical helicopters to area hospitals, and several others were transported by EMS ambulances.

The names of the accident victims and extent of their injuries have not been released.
