BUDGET MEETING WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL

  

Brenham City Councilmembers will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) in work session to go over the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The council will first hear an update from Washington County Chief Appraiser Dyann White.  After the update, the council will then discuss the proposed budget and general fund for the 2021-22 Fiscal Year.  No action will be taken.

When councilmembers met for a previous budget discussion in May, they were asked to provide a direction to staff regarding either issuing certificates of obligation for planned improvements in 2022, or going to voters for a bond issue.  At that meeting, the council indicated it was in favor of using certificates of obligation for the debt, but also wanted to inform voters what the certificates are for by holding evening meetings.

The council will meet tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the Roberta C. Johnson Program Room at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.
