SOME S.E.C. TEAMS COULD HAVE TO FORFEIT GAMES DUE TO COVID-19

Greg Sankey

The commissioner of the SEC suggests the conference will not allow games to be rescheduled due to COVID considerations for the upcoming season.

Commissioner Greg Sankey says teams will have to be "prepared" to play on game day as scheduled, regardless of potential roster binds created in the case of last-minute positive tests or mandatory quarantining.

If teams aren't ready or able to play, they could have to forfeit the game in question.

Sankey said he has proposed removing a minimum roster stipulation.

Last season, numerous SEC games were postponed or canceled altogether due to virus considerations.
