61 Blinn athletes named to the NJCAA All-Academic team
The NJCAA has recognized the Blinn College baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, and volleyball teams for academic achievement.
All seven teams were named 2020-21 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year after maintaining a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better throughout the academic year.
“I am extremely proud of our student-athletes for their tremendous excellence in the classroom,” said Scott Schumacher, athletic director. “Blinn College had a historic number of teams and athletes that were recognized by the NJCAA with academic honors during this unprecedented year. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff."
The volleyball team posted a 3.57 GPA, the softball team posted a 3.48 GPA, the men’s golf team posted a 3.36 GPA, the women’s soccer team posted a 3.35 GPA, the baseball team posted a 3.24 GPA, and the women’s golf team and men’s soccer team each posted a 3.01 GPA. In addition, 61 Blinn athletes were named to the NJCAA All-American team for maintaining a GPA of 3.60 or higher.
