WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING LIVESTOCK SHOOTINGS

  

A pair of animal cruelty investigations are underway in Washington County, as the Sheriff’s Office is looking into reports of livestock being shot.

Sheriff Otto Hanak says the shootings were reported between the dates of July 12-14.

The first report came from a property owner in the 10000 block of Highway 36 North near Gilmore Road, who found one of his longhorns deceased in his pasture with apparent gunshot wounds.

The second report was from a property owner in the 10000 block of Old Independence Road, who found on his property a deceased horse that had also been shot several times.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens to help identify any suspects involved.  Washington County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of anyone responsible.
