BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO THURSDAY AFTERNOON CALLS
The Brenham Fire Department was busy Thursday afternoon, with a number of minor calls.
The department was called out shortly before noon to a report of smoke inside Sport Clips on Highway 290 East.
Firefighters found smoke coming from a light ballast and cut the power. They set up a fan to remove the light haze from the building.
About a half hour later, they responded to a report of smoke in a car at the intersection of Stone Hollow and East Airline Drive.
Units arrived to find light smoke from a shorted-out wire inside the vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Just after 6:30, responders were called to a one-vehicle accident at the Dairy Bar restaurant, in the 2700 block of South Chappell Hill St.
No one was injured and no fluids were leaking.
