TEXAS GAS PRICES DOWN SLIGHTLY FROM LAST WEEK

  

The price of a gallon of gas in Texas is down slightly from a week ago.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.81.  That price is 3 cents less than this time last week, but 92 cents more than a year ago.

In Brenham, the average price sits at $2.84, with a low of $2.66 and a high of $3.06.

Surveying the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in Odessa are paying the most per gallon at $3.03, while drivers in Sherman-Denison are paying the least at $2.73.

Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $3.15, a penny cheaper than this time last week, but 97 cents more expensive than this time last year.
