The Brenham Fire Department says Saturday’s Fireman’s Fiesta was one for the record books.

According to the fire department, the 52nd annual fundraiser broke the record for the highest amount of money raised at the live auction, and sold out of drawing tickets before the event for the first time ever.  In addition, nearly 1,400 meal tickets were sold.

Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase new fire and rescue equipment, training and water rescue supplies, along with upgrades to the Fireman's Training Center.

The department thanks the community supporters, event organizers and volunteers who helped make this year’s event a success.  It also thanks H-E-B for its donation of $3,000 to help cover the cost of the sirloin steaks for the meal, as well as individual and business donors.
